Frequently Asked Questions

1) Q.  Do Front Porch Candles & Tarts need to Cure?

A. No, we test all of our staple scents after approx. 8 hours. Some customers do prefer to cure their tarts 1-2 weeks.

2) Q. How long does one wax melt last?

A.  If you search on google- "how long does one wax melt last"  the average is 6-12 hours.  At Front Porch Candles, one wax melt can last anywhere from 8 hours to 4 days depending on the warmer, how strong you like your melts, how long you melt them at a time, etc.  If you are looking for a longer lasting item, our candles are a great option.

3) Q.  What type of Tart Wax Warmer do you suggest?

A. We recommend an electric hot plate tart warmer for larger more open areas and a light bulb electric warmer for smaller rooms such as bedrooms.  Also be sure your warmer is not near a cold air return in your house, this can decrease your scent throw.

4) Q. Do I have to worry about ordering in the Summer Months?

A. It is rare when orders melt in the summer months.  We do take extra precautions to insure this does not happen such as warning labels added to the packages. Our clamshell wax melts and soy candles come in containers so no worry there. We now offer Shipping Protection, by selecting this option at checkout your package is protected from melting issues.

5) Q. Where are you located?

A.  We are located in Minster, Ohio.  All of our items are handpoured with love and in small batches to insure freshness!
